Kite Beach Community
Kitesurfingbrings us together.
A school can teach you a sport. A community makes you feel like you belong. No one gets on the water alone here.
Someone gets the gear ready. Someone explains. Someone reads the wind. Someone celebrates your progress. Someone passes on what they know. That's what keeps Kite Beach moving.

Luis · Kite BeachMore than two decades living and breathing kitesurfing.
Luis's journey in La Boquilla has taken him from learning the sport to riding, teaching, and founding Kite Beach. Since discovering kitesurfing in 2002, he has spent more than two decades building experience he now shares with every student who comes to the beach.
He grew up by the sea in Cartagena. Knowing this stretch of coast, reading the wind, and sharing the water are part of everyday life for him. His local roots connect naturally with the riders and travelers he meets from around the world — a kite culture that goes far beyond the board.
His teaching style is personal, patient, and safety-focused. He helps beginners understand the gear, build confidence, and progress at their own pace. Learning starts with feeling confident enough to try.
When he was younger, he found his way into the sport by helping out in exchange for lessons. That beginning deepened his passion and taught him the value of passing on what you know.
Message LuisOne 76-year-old student got up on the board on his very first day. It's a reminder that it's never too late to start, even though everyone progresses differently.

An opportunity meant to be shared.
Luis remembers what it meant to be given a chance. Today, he passes on what he has learned through sport, discipline, and guidance with children and young people in La Boquilla, helping them discover what they're capable of.
That cycle continues through teaching, guidance, and learning together. Community grows when everyone has something to contribute and somewhere to belong.
For Luis, kitesurfing is a way to find peace, let go of stress, and reconnect with nature and other people. It's freedom, focus, and a life close to the sea.
Kitesurfing in one word: Vivir — to live.
